Inspired by the Electronic music theme, the UI was designed to be aligned well with the overall neon visuals of the game, it incorporate elements from scifi imagery and EDM stage visual performances, resulting in a sleek and modern interface.

Being a compact mobile game, Dancing Wings is relatively low on content, therefore the Game Map was made simple and straightforward with only a handful of screens for the player to go through. It is divided in three levels following the process of the player navigating through the game with the main hub as a starting point.

Using a scrolling wheel design with item cards as the main interaction points, I aimed to bring forth a consistently sleek and polished experience for the player in each of the screen of the game and at the same time keeping in mind the futuristic theme of the product. Consistency, simplicity and easiness to navigate are the main target of these wireframes.

Nothing screams Space-Scifi atmosphere quite like a vibrant neon color palette which grabs the viewers’ attention from the very first time they load up the game. The dark background was an important element upon which shines a combination of vivid, contemporary highlights of purple and blue. Icons and text are in white with glowing effects making sure style does not compromise readability.

Quicksand is a Sans Serif type family of three weights plus matching obliques and a dash version for display and headings. Taking inspirations from geometric-style sans serif faces that were popular during the 30s, with geometric forms that have been optically corrected for better legibility being the basis, the font adds visual balance to the UI.
